Hook N Ladder Fishing was founded by two firefighters who share more than a love for the ocean — we share a calling to serve. Captain Canon Racanelli leads the business as COO, alongside Derek Smith, the company's CFO, keeping every trip running the way it should: firefighters and outdoorsmen who believe in doing things the right way. One of our founders is the father of a child diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just four years old — an experience that shaped a deep commitment to serving families facing hard circumstances. That heart for service is also why we give back. Every season, once we've raised enough, we sponsor a full trip for a family who needs one on us — no cost to them. We're especially passionate about serving families of fallen heroes, veterans facing PTSD or injury, children living with chronic illness, and anyone walking through a difficult season.
We currently run a 24' Allied vessel, built for a tight, capable crew of up to five guests. A custom 34' vessel is in development, expanding our ability to serve more families and groups.
